Despite the growing literacy of English language in Hungary, members of the older generation do not tend to speak English. German might help, still, it is the best if you can send your requests to them in Hungarian. You will find links to sample letters in Hungarian here.

Sample letter to the church

This letter is to be written to the Roman Catholic Church. To send it to parishes of reformed churches, change "Tisztelt Plébános Úr!" to "Tisztelt Lelkész úr!" in the addressing line.
